Dear Travel Agent,
We would like to inform you of the procedures and requirements for the transport and/or use on board of POC (Portable Oxygen Concentrators), CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) devices, and PMED (other portable medical devices). To validate and confirm the transport of these devices, a request must be added to the booking by entering a Special Service Request (SSR), as applicable.
Transport as Carry-on Baggage or Checked Baggage
PPOC - NOT TO BE USED ON BOARD - NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries, the battery type, and the power rating of each battery (Wh)).
CPAP - NOT TO BE USED ON BOARD - NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries and the power rating of each battery (Wh)).
PMED - NOT TO BE USED ON BOARD, specify the type of device, NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries and the power rating of each battery (Wh)).
Transport and Use On Board
With a medical certificate:
PPOC - TO BE USED ON BOARD NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries, the battery type, the power rating of each battery (Wh), and include the information W/Medical Information).
CPAP - TO BE USED ON BOARD NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries, the power rating of each battery (Wh), and include the information W/Medical Information).
PMED - TO BE USED ON BOARD, specify the type of device, NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries, the power rating of each battery (Wh), and include the information W/Medical Information).
After entering the SSR, you must contact us so that we can finalize the process on our side.
With a MEDIF:
PPOC - TO BE USED ON BOARD NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries, the battery type, and the power rating of each battery (Wh)).
CPAP - TO BE USED ON BOARD NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries and the power rating of each battery (Wh)).
PMED - TO BE USED ON BOARD, specify the type of device, NO BATTERY or W/BATTERY (indicate the number of batteries and the power rating of each battery (Wh)).
The MEDIF must be sent to PDLCYSP@SATA.PT, and the SSR MEDA (including the passenger's diagnosis) must be added to the booking.
Note
- For devices that will be used on board, a MEDIF is not mandatory. A medical certificate confirming the passenger's diagnosis and fitness to travel with the device may be provided instead.

- All sections of the MEDIF must be fully completed.
- Due to their fragile nature, these devices should preferably be transported as carry-on baggage.
